Job Description: Buyer-Materials Manager Ireland- Dublin 2021-88
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Oversees the broad activities related to material planning and inventory management including the procurement of materials, parts, components and equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Procurement of all outside materials and services necessary to support production and company operations, management of the system, and physical maintenance, fiscal control and movement of all inventory in-house and between two separate facilities.
2. Provide development and maintenance of inventory control systems to track status of purchase orders, inventory levels and production requirements.
3. Reviews and approves purchases; as well as works with suppliers to negotiate contracts, including supplier selection and price negotiations.
4. Develop strategic and tactical supply plans; contingency plans for elected suppliers, and continuous improvement plans.
5. Ensure purchases of important items and replacement units for defective products, requiring some specialized knowledge and experience with electronics or test equipment, manufacturing and packaging processes for computers and computer peripherals or related industry.
6. Responsible for purchase of stock inventory as well as provide procurement support for any backordered product.
7. Report any accidents or injuries immediately at time of occurrence to an HR representative.
8. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
9. Work jointly with quality as per the supplier qualifications/disqualification processes.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree with CPIM or APICS certified.
Experience: Five-ten years experience in a materials and purchasing capacity of electronic/mechanical components or commodities, including supervision of exempt and non-exempt employees.
Skills: Extensive contract negotiating skills preferably with packaging materials. Demonstrated leadership and writing skills. Must be able to maintain corporate gross profit margin on all purchases unless otherwise authorized. Prefer high volume buying experience with short lead-time and flexibility to meet customer satisfaction in fast-paced environment

- Must be able to work the 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm shift.
- Diagnose and repair electronic boards and assemblies to the component level using schematics.
- Use oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and specialized test equipment to troubleshoot and isolate failures.
- Follow detailed written process checklists to validate and test functionality.
- Assist Technicians and other Engineers with diagnosis of electronic systems.
- Debugging to the component level.
Required Education and Experience
- Asociate's Degree.
- Strong computer networking skills.
- Ability to work on a variety of projects across multiple technologies.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience as an electronic technician or higher.
- Experience with Electronics repair.
